Dr Michael Hooker is a Chiropractor and certified teaching Diplomate of the International Board of Applied Kinesiology.  He is a member of the International College of Applied Kinesiology and has presented the ICAK 100 hour course with the AK teaching group in New Zealand and Australia.

Michael brings a wealth of clinical experience, that will enhance your diagnostic ability of AK to be able to address your patients in a truly holistic fashion using cutting edge techniques.

The Program

The Certification course in Applied Kinesiology aims to take your confidence in practice to the next level. Combining the art and science of muscle testing combined with the applied knowledge in functional integrative health care.

This structured course will take you through the theory and hands-on application of the powerful and time honoured Applied Kinesiology (AK) procedures.

The much anticipated series will cover theory and clinical applications of AK as a holistic approach to patient care and management with a strong workshop component.

The programme is a combination of online learning and webinars  and in person practical workshops.

The online component will contain 4×2 hour webinars per module held in the weeks prior to the workshop. You must be registered by April 1st to be eligible and attend the 4 assigned webinars to be able to attend the first module workshop.

The weekend workshops will be run in the South Island and North Island.

You need to attend either the South Island or North Island workshops for each module.

Module 1

The Science and Art of Functional Muscle Testing, Basic Procedures plus the analysis of the Spine and Pelvis.

Workshop held in Hamilton/Auckland May 3-4 (Venue dependent on numbers) and Christchurch May 10-11.

Module 2

Craniosacral and extremity analysis and correction

Workshop held in Hamilton/Auckland  June 28-29 (Venue dependent on numbers) and Christchurch July 5-6.

Module 3

TMJ analysis and corrections, Gait and Modular Dysfunction and Meridian Therapy

Workshop held in Hamilton/Auckland September 6-7 (Venue dependent on numbers) and Christchurch September 13-14.

Module 4

Functional health assessment, Physiology, Biochemical Applications, Visceral organ and fascial analysis and correction

Workshop held in Hamilton/Auckland November 1-2 (Venue dependent on numbers) and Christchurch November 8-9.

To achieve AK certification all modules must be attended and the examinations passed.

Module One must be attended before attending any further modules.

Certification is optional.

• ‘Refresher’ must have completed each session previously that is to be refreshed.
• ‘Students’ will be asked to present their University Student Card.
• Cancellations within 21 days of the series will incur a 50% fee and, if pre-paid, NO refunds after the start of the series.
